Wow

It’s been a long time since I posted an entry here.  I’ve finished the Twinkle blanket.  It’s not going to the person I thought of originally but it will go to a person who will appreciate it.  I’ve made another pair of mittens for Adon and I’m close to finishing a sample pair of socks from the toe up.  After that I will start on another pair for a friend.  I’m about halfway done with a Jayne hat for a friend who has been sick and I started a shawl for the simple reason that I wanted to knit and the yarn and needles were closer to where I was than any other project.  I also have plans to knit a brain hat but I need to get the pattern and the supplies…..

Twinkle Twinkle

Started another blanket.  The pattern is called Twinkle Twinkle.  It’s got a moon and stars on it and a contrasting section that has the first four bars of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.  I’m doing in tan and black.  It’s going to be a gift for one of Chris’s cousins who is having a baby.

Catchy title here…

Well I have heard from both of the people that I sent the baby blankets to.  They are both happy with them.

I wound the yarn for Pat’s socks last night on the nostepinne that Chris made for me.  I might need her to measure her feet so that I can make them to the right measurements.  I plan to make toe-up socks which is something I haven’t done before.  This method also allows you to make a better fitting sock.

I picked up the newest issue of Creative Knitting at work today because some of the patterns in there looked like fun to make.

Blanket pictures

Well here are the promised blanket pictures.  I had fun making them.

Well the blanket still isn’t done but I did get a pouch planned and knitted in a week.  I think that is an accomplishment considering I was working full time and then I helped get the truck loaded to go to Winter War XIV.

I’ve gotten some spinning done and learned to dye wool with Kool-Aid.  That was fun.  I have an idea of what to make now just have to work out how to do it.  Thanks to Jacinta over at Jamberrysongs for the prompt.

I’m going to start a new pair of mittens for Adon today and I’ve got another blanket going.  This one is in the same background color as the sheepy blanket but it is in individual squares.  I’m doing one of the blankets from the book Chris gave me for Christmas.

I’m supposed to be making a pair of socks for Pat but she’s only given me half of the yarn.  I’ll have to remember to contact her to see if she’s found the rest of it.  She gave me one skein and that is probably enough but I’d like to try the two at a time toe up socks and that would be easier if I had more than one skein to work from.

Random Squee

I got fifteen 40″ bamboo circulars in different sizes for Christmas…….

So far this year…

I finished Adon’s mittens just after Christmas but I don’t like how they came out….I might knit another pair but use a single strand instead and then make a liner.  Maybe using fleece…

The two at a time socks are coming along nicely and I’m about done with the heels and then moving on the the foot.

After I finish the socks I’m going to finish the basket weave baby blanket and give that to a friend who is due in February.  Then I’m going to embroider the sheep on the sheepy blanket.

Words of wisdom from a wise woman

My mother once told me to always have either a book or a work in progress with me, preferably both.  That would ensure that I would never have to wait for anyone and not have something to do.  I don’t always have a project on me but I do try to at least have a book in my purse.

Hello world!

Hi All.

This is my new blog.  It doesn’t have a focus yet but will most likely involve a lot of knitting or my ventures into other fiber arts.

Hope you all enjoy it….
