Blankets

I have finished the basket weave blanket and the Sheepy blanket. I’ll post pictures of both here after I mail them off to their respective new homes. I plan to get the mommies of the intended recipients to take pictures of them in use and post them so I can see how they like them….

I’m working on a sampler afghan out of a book that Chris gave me for Christmas.  I also need to skein the yarn that Pat gave me so that I can get started on the toe up socks that she wants….That reminds me…I either need to measure her or get her to measure herself so that I can get the proportions right.

A Productive month

March has been a productive month for me craft-wise.  I started and finished two projects and made progress on two more.  I just have to take pictures of the two toys that I made before I pack them up to give to their intended recipients.  I plan to work on the basket weave blanket next and get that finished then I will see where to go from there.

I got one of the sheep done on the sheepy blanket and I think that I may alternate that color on the sheep.  I think the next time I do this blanket I’m going to make it an extra square wide across the top and bottom and maybe put a dog and a llama in those spots.

While knitting the owlie I had this sudden urge to knit Cthulu so that might be the next project.  After all if I please the Elder God he’ll eat me first.

Project Updates

The owlie is finished.  It’s pretty cute and I’ll have to take some pictures of it and post them.

I haven’t worked on the new mittens for Adon recently but I might do that while taking a break from playing my new Sims game in the morning.

I have embroidered the first sheep on the sheepy blanket.  I will also take a picture of that and post them.

Later…..

Owlie again

I’ve got the head done and did up the tummy.  The body is all knitted I just have to sew it up, attach things, stuff it and then make the feet and tail….

Owlies……

I’m almost done with an owl head.  I figure that I can give it as a gift for the birthday party I was invited to for Chris’s cousin’s daughter.  I also might make a ball for the baby shower that I was invited too later….

Working on a basket weave baby blanket in natural colored cotton.  Hope to have it done by February 15th to give to a friend who is expecting her first baby.

Current Project

I finished the first mitten for Adon and I see where I will need to make some changes for the second mitten to fit better.  I’m just about done with the cuff for the second mitten.  I have also been informed that I need to make him a hat and scarf to go with the mittens….Note to self get Chris to change the print head in the printer and read up on illusion knitting pattern creation.  I have this idea to put maybe Adon’s initials on the scarf and maybe a critter or two….

Another project

I’ve started the next set of mittens.  Adon wants red and white stripey ones.  I’m double stranding them for warmth.  I’m just not sure they’ll fit though….I’ll have to try the first one on him after I get to a certain point.

In recent knitting

Finished the body of the sheepy blanket last night. Now I just have to embroider it. Today I picked up yarn to start a pair of mittens for the BF’s nephew. I should hopefully have enough left for a hat and maybe a scarf. (I’m double stranding so I’m not sure…..

Progess made…..

Well I managed to fix the mistake but ripping it out probably would have taken me less time.  I’ve gotten a few more rows done and have tentative hopes of starting the embroidery before the end of the week.  I’ll take and post pics of the blanket once it’s done but before I start the embroidery.  I’m thinking of doing a blanket of a similar size and border but with llamas instead of sheep….
